Can an Ohio Child Support Enforcement Agency increase my child support obligation?

YES!  An Ohio Child Support Enforcement Agency has an administrative review process and it has the authority to review child support orders and typically, support obligations are increased over time, usually as salaries increase over time.  However, you do have the right to object if you believe the numbers used to calculate child support were wrong, i.e., gross salaries, health insurance costs, daycare expenses, etc. and/or you believe you qualify for a deviation in the support amount. Keep in mind that you have a very limited amount of time to object to this decision, usually within fourteen (14) days or thirty (30) days, depending on if the Court ordered the decision, or the agency issued the decision.  You should consult an attorney immediately upon receiving the decision to ensure you object in the appropriate amount of time.
