April Showers….Bring more car accidents

Why should you carry an umbrella…policy?

Ohio is among the top 5 states for uninsured drivers. Each year, about 1.3 million Ohio drivers operate a vehicle without auto insurance.[1] This means that your chances of being hit by an uninsured driver are exceptionally high. Thus the importance of carrying Uninsured/Underinsured Motorists Coverage with corresponding Umbrella coverage (also referred to “full coverage insurance”). In the event, you or a family member or friend are injured in an accident, the attorneys at Lardiere McNair will zealously advocate for the rights of injured victims.

Too often we see clients that are injured in an accident with an uninsured driver and their coverage limits aren’t enough to cover their medical bills, lost wages, and other noneconomic losses (pain & suffering, missing family events, etc.).

This is where an umbrella policy may close the gap, and cover beyond what your uninsured motorist policy would have covered. *

In the unfortunate incident where you are possibly liable for an auto accident, an umbrella policy may protect your assets and future income.

Family circumstances change more than we think.  Meeting with your insurance agent each year is a good practice. Our experience is that clients with personal relationships with their insurance agents fare much better in having the proper coverage in place to protect themselves and their loved ones.
