An important facet of Lardiere McNair is being active in our community. This year, Chris Lardiere is president of the Hilliard Optimist Club. Melissa Dutton from Business First has recently written an article about the club. Read on for selections from the article.
"The programs of the club are designed to impact students in the Hilliard City School District in a variety of ways, said Chris Lardiere, president of the club. The mission of the club is to encourage values, leadership skills and sense of fair play among local students."
"In addition to organizing youth football, basketball, field hockey and cheerleading programs, the club holds speech and essay contests. The club annually awards $30,000 in scholarships to seniors graduating from the district’s three high schools. The scholarships go to students who previously participated in any of the club’s programs."
"One of Lardiere’s goals as the club’s new president is to spread the word about volunteer opportunities it offers. Although the club has existed for more than 50 years, many in the community are not aware of how they can work with the club to serve the youth of Hilliard, he said."
