Every so often, a photograph pulls us back in time.
Recently, many of us recognized a familiar face in the Columbus Dispatch—a photo from high school basketball days of our law partner Taylor Agler. Long before courtrooms and case files, Taylor was leading teams on the hardwood. What the photo captures is not just a moment in sports history, but the foundation of something our clients experience every day.
Taylor went on to become a captain of the Ohio University women’s basketball team, a role earned—not given—through discipline, preparation, and trust under pressure. Leadership in competitive athletics, especially at that level, demands decisiveness, composure, and accountability when everyone in the building knows the ball is coming to you. Those expectations don’t disappear when the clock winds down; they sharpen.
That same mindset defines Taylor’s legal practice at Lardiere McNair & Stonebrook.
Today, instead of a game clock, the pressure comes from insurers delaying responsibility, opposing counsel testing limits, or legal issues that weigh heavily on our clients’ lives and livelihoods. The stakes are real. The consequences matter. And when the situation demands clarity, strategy, and resolve, our clients want Taylor with the ball.
Taylor’s path—from high school standout, to collegiate captain, to law partner—reflects a consistent pattern: preparation meets opportunity. At our firm, she plays a key leadership role in personal injury and civil litigation matters, helping guide cases through negotiations, litigation decisions, and resolution. Her approach is measured, direct, and client-focused—qualities that matter most when outcomes are uncertain and emotions run high.
Leadership in law, like leadership in sports, is not about volume or spectacle. It’s about judgment when it counts. It’s about knowing when to push, when to hold position, and when to make the play that puts the client in the best possible outcome.
We’re proud when our partners are recognized for their accomplishments—past and present. But more importantly, we’re proud of what those experiences bring into our work every day. When our clients place their trust in our firm, they deserve attorneys who have proven—again and again—that pressure doesn’t change their decision-making. It clarifies it.
And when the moment matters most, that’s exactly who you want holding the ball.
